It is actually true that giving is very rewarding. Generosity can give you a bigger thrill than actually benefiting from someone else's generosity. So why is it so hard to do sometimes? Why do people tend to hoard rather than give something away?
I think it is because we are selfish creatures. It goes against our nature to simply give, especially without a hidden agenda. We all want to profit from our resources, not extend them to others who probably won't give a good return from our investment.
The truth is that it is always worth it to give. Our giving is always a good investment of ourselves. We will be blessed by the sacrifice one way or the other. We are often too shortsighted to see that blessing, because if we did, we wouldn't hesitate to give.
